Dan Estep, aka Flooding Factory, is an artist who lives and works in Chicago, Illinois. Dan started a screenprinting studio called the Flooding Factory in his basement in 2010. Since then, and two basement studios later, Flooding Factory has evolved into a multi-disciplinary practice including painting, drawing, illustration, digital art, and sculpture. Flooding Factory uses imagery heavily influenced by comics, cartoons, patterns, psychedelia, music, typography, and bold graphics, to create weird fun stuff. Repetition of symbols, colors, and patterns across his work creates a visual language that ties the individual pieces together into a cohesive whole. His artwork is an outlet for his stream of conscious thoughts, reflections, and exploration.
