As an artist, Melissa has been inspired by the journey of her daughter. She was born with a congenital heart disease and has gone through three open-heart surgeries. She’s motivated to continue supporting the medical community by drawing additional anatomical pieces. Her hope is that these art pieces will connect with people and their own personal journeys.

Anatomical Hearts

Melissa started drawing anatomical hearts when her daughter was born. Her daughter has CHD (congenital heart disease) and has had three open heart surgeries in her young life. These drawings were created over the course of several years as her way of coping. In May of 2021, Melissa turned all of her hearts into a coloring book. Those base designs have now become this limited collection of 100 Anatomical Heart NFTs. She has also expanded on the heart journey to include other anatomical organs.
