Saphera (Saf) Peters

Saphera Peters is a South Asian artist who was born and raised in Brampton, Ontario, and for as long as she can remember she’s been a creative soul. Inspired by her South Asian culture, her art uses bold colours, movement, and traditional imagery to tell her stories.

Growing up as a minority, she did not see positive representations of herself in mainstream media, and was constantly ‘othered’ for her cultural background. She uses her art to reclaim her identity and empower those who have similar stories as her to be proud of themselves, their backgrounds, and their stories.
