Animoca Brands Partners with Planet Hollywood to Bring Virtual and Real-World Memberships Together with the Launch of Club 3 in LA
Hong Kong-based digital entertainment company, Animoca Brands, has announced its plans to launch a new exclusive club in Los Angeles, California. Named Club 3, in partnership Planet Hollywood Group through its existing joint venture, Meta Hollywood, which was founded in 2022.
While exclusive clubs are not a new concept in Web3, the launch of Club 3 aims to bridge the gap between real-world and virtual memberships. In April 2021, Yuga Labs launched the highly popular Bored Ape Yacht Club, which quickly became the most exclusive club in the crypto space. Now, Animoca Brands aims to replicate this success with Club 3.
Membership perks will be based on the type of membership, with access to various amenities provided. Members can meet and interact with others virtually through a closed community chat. Minting a Club 3 NFT will provide collectors with their membership in the group over four tiers: Founding, Social, Global, and Corporate Memberships.
At the core of the venture is ClubID, a new identity, membership, and commerce platform that powers Meta Hollywood's communities, set to launch in beta in 2023.
Animoca Brands, established in 2014, is a software company and venture capital firm. In 2018, Animoca Brands acquired Pixowl, the creators of The Sandbox, one of the more popular virtual platforms in the metaverse. Last year, Animoca Brands acquired Eden Games, Darewise Entertainment, and Grease Monkey Games.
