Applications for the Second Round of Axie Esports Grants are Live!

Axie Infinity has just announced the second round of Axie Esports with a total grant of 7,500 AXS. 

As Sky Mavis, the team behind Axie Infinity game development, is excited about the long-term potential for Axie Esports, last year, it committed 5,500 AXS to support a grant for Axie Esports that supported over 40 tournaments. As a result, Axie Infinity was delighted by the response and the global scale of the events. Throughout the process the team gathered community feedback and have used it when designing this second round of grants.

Submissions opened on January 15th and will be live until January 25th. Axie Esports events can officially begin taking place once the submission deadline has passed, with the final day of the Axie Esports calendar being June 30th, 2022.

This year's grant will allocate 7500 AXS to over 75 community-organized events' prize pools and expenses.

To submit a successful tournament application, community event organizers must follow a specific set of guidelines to guarantee that their efforts deserve such funding. “Approved tournament organizers that do not meet the minimum requirements will forfeit their 5% of the AXS used for expenses and not be considered for future esports grants. Sky Mavis team reported. ‍

With this second round of grant, Sky Mavis team expects event organizers to make a reasonable effort to utilize their social media platforms to provide event information such as brackets, timetables, rules, commentators, and live stream links, and to apply the rules to all competitors in a fair and equal manner.‍
