Beatles’ Drummer Ringo Starr to Release an NFT Collection
The 81-year-old rock legend and former drummer for The Beatles, Ringo Starr, will debut a non-fungible token (NFT) collection in the metaverse next month. Julien's Auction House will showcase the exciting NFT collection on June 13th.
Five audiovisual pieces named "The Creative Mind of a Beatle" are included in the NFT collection. Each NFT is unique, with a Starr-created animated painting and drum composition. The digital materials will also be linked to a limited-edition 25" X 25" canvas print signed by the legendary singer.
A total of 20 NFTs will be released, with each design having four editions. The Lotus Foundation will benefit from a portion of the proceeds from the sale of the NFTs, which will start at an opening bid of $1,000.
In addition, Starr is collaborating with the Spatial framework to build RingoLand, a virtual gallery where fans may explore his creations in the metaverse. After the auction, all successful bidders who own a Ringo NFT can use Spatial.io on the web, VR, or mobile to access a virtual meet and greet with the legend himself.
Starr stated that he loves creating NFTs combining his music and art, and added,
“Who’d have thought I would be spreading Peace and Love in the Metaverse?”
On June 13th, the auction will be held online at juliensauctions.com.
