Cristiano Ronaldo Partners with Binance to get Football Fans into Web3

Cristiano Ronaldo, the football superstar, has signed an exclusive multi-year non-fungible token (NFT) deal with cryptocurrency exchange Binance. Through global NFT initiatives, the cooperation hopes to introduce soccer fans to the Web3 environment.

Binance noted in a statement provided to Cointelegraph that the partnership includes the creation of a series of NFT collections with Ronaldo. The first collection will be available exclusively on the Binance NFT platform later this year.

Changpeng Zhao, the CEO and founder of Binance, acknowledged Ronaldo's achievements in soccer, saying that the sportsman had "transcended sport to become an icon in multiple industries." Zhao also stated:

“He has amassed one of the world’s most dedicated fan bases through his authenticity, talent, and charity work.”

Zhao went on to say that the Binance team is pleased to provide Ronaldo fans with "exclusive engagement opportunities to connect with Ronaldo" since they own pieces of the NFT collections. Meanwhile, the soccer superstar commented on the forthcoming NFT releases, adding that fans will undoubtedly love them. Ronaldo also stated:

“My relationship with the fans is very important to me, so the idea of bringing unprecedented experiences and access through this NFT platform is something that I wanted to be a part of.”

Despite the current crypto winter, Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao expressed optimism earlier in June. Zhao stated confidently that this is his third crypto winter and Binance's second experience with this type of market circumstance, meaning that the team understands how to navigate a bear market. Aside from that, the Binance CEO stated that they will take advantage of the situation to acquire top people who are accessible at the time.
