Emirates Airline to Launch NFTs and Metaverse Experiences
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) airline has unveiled a strategy to expand its outstanding experiences for passengers and staff into the latest digital era with a $10M investment.
The airline, which is known for its cutting-edge products and exceptional customer service, recently revealed ambitions to create signature brand experiences in the metaverse, as well as collectible and utility-based NFTs. The first projects are already in the works, with a launch date in the near future.
Emirates recently stated that the Emirates Pavilion at Expo 2020 will be transformed into an innovation center, attracting talent from around the world to bring the airline's future-focused projects, such as metaverse, NFTs, and Web3, to life.
“Dubai and the UAE are blazing the way in the digital economy, having a clear vision supported by practical policies and regulatory frameworks in areas such as virtual assets, artificial intelligence, and data protection,” said HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and Chief Executive at Emirates Airline and Group.
Although Emirates Airline did not specify what kind of NFTs it will be releasing, it did state that the first NFT and metaverse projects are well underway and will be launched in the coming months.
