KPMG Canada Purchases World of Women Ethereum NFT and ENS Domain Name
KPMG announced the purchase of Woman #2681 for 25 ETH ($70,000), calling the purchase its "first foray into this rapidly growing asset class."
Just weeks after adding Bitcoin and Ethereum to its corporate treasury, the Canadian branch of multinational accounting company KPMG purchased a World of Women (WoW) NFT and an Ethereum Name Service domain name.
“Women are underrepresented in the world of all things crypto, which makes us proud to make our first NFT acquisition in a collection that supports women,” said Nancy Chase, KPMG Partner and National Risk Consulting Leader.
NFTs, according to Kareem Sadek, co-leader of KPMG's Crypto assets and Blockchain Services, have "many use cases," including marketing, talent recruitment, philanthropy, and interacting with customers.
KPMG Canada not only believes in "the continuous rise of NFTs," but it also aims to assist customers in developing corporate strategies for NFT acquisition and storage.
Sadek told Decrypt that KPMG will look into NFTs that “align with KPMG in Canada’s values and brand, and we will look for creative ways to invest in the space and support the right causes.”
