Lacoste Releases ‘UNDW3’ NFT Collection on Ethereum
Lacoste, a French fashion brand, has unveiled an NFT collection based on its iconic crocodile logo. These 11,212 NFTs, dubbed "UNDW3," provide owners access to Lacoste's brand-new Web3 community.
Lacoste released their "UNDW3" NFTs on June 14 on the Ethereum network. These NFTs rapidly sold out, and the only way collectors can now get them is on Lacoste's OpenSea link, according to the brand's Twitter account.
If you're wondering why Lacoste produced 11,212 NFTs, it's because the brand's iconic Polo L1212 has this number. However, these NFTs do not include polo shirts from Lacoste. Every "UNDW3" NFT instead plays a clip of a crocodile's glowing eyes peeking from a pond.
Lacoste mentioned many benefits NFT holders would receive in the run-up to the release of "UNDW3." Access to unique items and experiences will be available to all "UNDW3" holders. Lacoste said that it will enable community members to offer suggestions for the next designs or for making unique clothing.
Lacoste stated on Twitter that despite the unstable state of the cryptocurrency market, it was still optimistic about the potential of "virtual reality" and "the metaverse." Catherine Spindler, chief brand officer of Lacoste, added that Web3 technology matched the brand's "creativity and avant-gardism."
“Undw3 attests to our desire to accompany the phenomenon of decentralization driven by Web3 and bears witness to our ambitions in this area,” said Catherine Spindler.
Lacoste launched an official Discord channel before releasing its limited-edition "UNDW3" NFTs in order to enhance fan interaction. Lacoste also created a DAO where holders of NFT may vote or propose recommendations.
