Ledgers Teams Up With The Sandbox to Provide Crypto Education in the Metaverse
The Sandbox has teamed with cryptocurrency hardware wallet company Ledger to promote crypto education in its virtual world.
The revelation was disclosed by Ian Rogers, Ledger's chief experience officer, at the Non-Fungible Conference on Monday. According to him, the new alliance intends to offer security to The Sandbox's universe and give Ledger a role in educating people about cryptocurrency.
Rogers expressed gratitude to The Sandbox and Sebastien Borget, the company's co-founder and chief operations officer, for the opportunity, stating that as part of the agreement, Ledger will provide SAND owners with special Ledger Nanos.
According to Rogers, the most crucial aspect of this collaboration will be educating people about security. He explained:
“The reality is that educated people become Ledger customers, and so we just want to make sure that all people have all the education they need to be safe and to properly manage this incredible right and freedom that they have of self-custody.”
According to a Ledger spokesperson, the business hopes to reveal more specifics about the partnership at a later date.
Ledger is a leading manufacturer of hardware cryptocurrency wallets, which are physical devices that store a user's private keys. The French firm has been actively expanding its operations beyond standard cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin (BTC), now supporting non-fungible tokens as well. Ledger released a limited version of the Ledger Nano S Plus, a fresh new hardware wallet that supports NFTs by design, in early March.
