Metaverse Game Studios Partners with ImmutableX for Upcoming Web3 MMORPG
The creators of popular video games such as Far Cry and Diablo Immortal are using blockchain technology to develop a brand-new Web3 MMORPG.
With a team of programmers contributing to several AAA games, independent game developer Metaverse Game Studios has partnered with Web3 development platform ImmutableX to continue developing Angelic.
Unreal Engine 5 is used to power the next game, which is described as a narrative strategy RPG with a dark science fiction premise and turn-based combat. For players searching for an AAA-level Web3 gaming experience, there is a wide selection suggested by a story-driven single-player campaign and a free-to-play multiplayer metaverse.
Ethereum-based nonfungible tokens (NFTs), digital collectibles that players can own, will be powered by ImmutableX's full-stack gaming platform. Additionally, the developers claim that Angelic is "chain agnostic," meaning that digital assets will be hosted off-chain and compatible with various blockchain networks.
Angelic aims to deliver a "collaborate-to-earn" offering while serving both Web2 and Web3 audiences. This will enable user ownership of in-game assets and involvement in the game's future development. In addition, Angelic community members will receive rewards from Metaverse Game Studios and ImmutableX for their contributions to the game's world.
Anastasia Volgemut, the director of operations at Metaverse Games Studios, acknowledged ImmutableX as a crucial element in the delivery of the Web3 feature in a statement saying:
“By leveraging ImmutableX, our users can tap into the benefits of fast, secure, and gas-free minting and an uninterrupted, quality gaming experience.”
In January 2023, Angelic will debut alpha testing with a small group of partners and members of the community, followed by a public launch in February. The PvP component of the game will then allow players to exchange in-game NFTs they had previously obtained from the early access edition.
In March 2022, Metaverse Game Studios secured a $10 million seed funding round led by Animoca Brands, Pantera Capital, and Everyrealm.
