Sky Mavis Teams Up With Google Cloud to Help with Ronin Network Security
Sky Mavis, creators of Axie Infinity, announced a partnership with Google Cloud to strengthen the security of the Ronin blockchain network and further their goal of creating a rewarding gaming environment.
With the multi-year partnership, Google Cloud will join Animoca Brands, DappRadar, and Nansen in a node pool as an independent enterprise validator for Ronin. The company will take on validator uptime monitoring and help with network security.
According to Viet Anh Ho, co-founder and chief training officer of Sky Mavis, one reason for the partnership is Google Cloud's autoscaling and automated application deployment features.
“These free up our engineers to break new ground and delight users with interrelated and immersive experiences — all without disrupting active gameplay,” said Viet Anh Ho.
Google Cloud official Ruma Balasubramanian stated that the company will collaborate with Sky Mavis to accelerate its plan and expand the Ronin network using a more secure network. In addition, Balasubramanian commended the play-to-earn (P2E) idea developed by Axie Infinity and emphasized the various possible outcomes that may result from the partnership.
Sky Mavis is working with Google Cloud as part of its efforts to enhance security in order to prevent another occurrence like the Ronin breach. Here at NFT Drops Calendar, we reported that the Ronin network was hacked back in March, resulting in losses that are said to have exceeded $600 million. There were only nine validator nodes in Sky Mavis at the time of the breach. The company reported having 18 validator nodes at the moment and is aiming to raise that number to 21.
