The United Arab Emirates to Launch World’s First Metaverse Hospital
The United Arab Emirates is bringing the metaverse to a new level with the opening of the first metaverse hospital that will serve medical tourists.
The Thumbay Group, a healthcare company that has already started on the project, will be in charge of running the metaverse hospital. Visitors will be able to engage with virtual doctors and medical professionals while visiting the virtual hospital using their avatars.
The hospital, according to Dr. Thumbay Moideen, founder of the Thumbay Group, will open before October of this year. It will also serve as a model for the Thumbay healthcare center, allowing guests interested in medical tourism to preview what the facility would look like before visiting.
The Thumbay hospital also provides long-term care patients with access to augmented and virtual reality metaverse technology, and cameras recognize patients' automobile license plate numbers and faces before they enter the facility to speed up check-in.
Thumbay's metaverse hospital is not the country's first effort into Web3 and the metaverse. The AE's Ministry of Health and Community Protection (MOHAP) opened the world's first customer service center using metaverse technology in January. The experience is more immersive and satisfies the demands of clients in 3D settings in a more user-friendly manner.
