Visa Launches NFT Creator Program to Public
Visa has announced a Creator Program in which selected small corporations in sectors including music, fashion, and film would be assisted in expanding their businesses using non-fungible tokens (NFT).
The program will last a year and will benefit few people who will receive an NFT-related training and education. Artists, filmmakers, fashion designers, and musicians will be among the creators. Filling out a questionnaire and then a final interview are required to join the program.
“NFTs have the potential to become a powerful accelerator for the creator economy,” said Cuy Sheffield, Visa’s head of crypto. “Through the Visa Creator Program, we want to help this new breed of small and micro businesses tap into new mediums for digital commerce.”
The Visa Creator Program offers a one-year immersion into the world of NFTs, including technical and product mentorship, community building, access to thought leaders, exposure to Visa clients and partners, and a one-time stipend.
According to Visa, which cited data from Influencer Marketing Hub, the so-called creative economy has a market size of over $100 billion.
It is impossible to say if the program will be successful or whether its participants will have long term careers in the NFT industry. However, institutional funding is another indicator that, despite the industry's early stage of development, major corporations are very bullish on Web3.
